Final Contents page

This is my final contents page for my school magazine. as I mentioned in previous posts I wanted to theme it like an internet web page because teenagers would be farmiliar with them as they use the internet daily.

I decided to go with a google theme with this page because google is a kind of starting point on the internet bbecause you would use it to find websites and information and the contents page on anything is like a starting point because you use it to find out what is inside the magazine you are reading or any book.

Final Front Cover

This is my final shool magazine front cover, I decided to go with you tube video page look bacause it is eye catching and recognizable and the video screen makes a very good place to put the main video.

I used the coments page as a place to put the teasers for whats inside the magazine and the related videobox made good use of my extra images which I didn't need before.

How I made it

I got pieces of a youtube page and put them together on a photoshop page, I then got the youtube logo and altered it by removing the text that said youtube using the rubber tool and the paint tool and then I found a font that looked enough like the youtbe font and typed out my magazine title (Sixth Form). The rest of the text such as the teasers and the video title was simple because the font they use on the site is very simple and looks alot like Arial which is the font I used.

Pictures for School Magazine

When taking pictures for my school magazine I decided to take more than I needed so that I had a wide veriety to choose from when I actually start to add them to my final magazine.

Because I am looking at how large work loads can make life harder on students I took some pictures of me looking confused and lost as a sort of before stage to having trouble with work. I have a wide veriety to choose from here so I can even use more than one I wish and because I will have advice on work and advice on revision I have a great amount of images here to work with.














Here are some more Images of me as if I have followed the advice whicgh I will write in the article and have done some good work and have become very organised in the way I not deal with school tasks.

Front cover and Contents Page Planning

Front Cover

I realise that the front cover of my magazine has to show certain things: the name of my magazine, what the reader can expect to find inside and obviously an image of the main topic being looked at in the magazine.

As for the name of my magazine I have decided to simply go with 'Sixth Form', this is because I wanted to have a simple name which made it clear who the magazine was for: sixth formers and I think that this name works as the name of a school magazine.

The image I have decided to go with for the front cover is a picture of a student (possibly me) having trouble with school work of some kind because my double page spread will be about how the stresses of work can get to sixth formers even in the first couple of terms.

As for the apearance of the front cover I want to go with something that mimics an internet page such as Youtube or facebook because I realise that these days the average teenager will spend much of their free time at home on the internet and I thought that it would be a real eaye catcher if I mage my front page and contents page look like certain website home pages.

Evolve School Magazine Front Cover Evaluation

The first thing that I can say about this front cover is how simple it is. it has two main colours being blue and black; there is beams of blue and light blue behind the title (in black) and there are black silhouetes of things that represent different aspects of the school.

I would say that this magazine would not be seen as a conventional magazine if viewed by someone because is is not dominated by teasers of whats inside and there are no pictures of celebritys in the front how ever it is also fairly hard to link this cover to a school because the only thing telling me that this is a school magazine is the tiny bit of text at the bottom that actually says the name of the school but apart from that the images do not really suggest a school magazine; if anything the image of the figure with the electric guitar suggests that to me that this is a magazine and the picture of the eiffel tower and the snowman suggest that the magazine is following a band's tour or something like that.

Overall I think that this is a really cool front cover for a school magazine and whilst it not being a school magazine cover to me at first glance I consider it again and I think that it is quite cool to have something cool and different for a school magazine and I think that it is very eyecatching.
